There are some of you who I only contact through myspace or blogger (like you, Rob). So if you are interested, email me directly. I might just give you some more details.

we're back!

We just returned from our travels in Texas, which included Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Austin. There's so much to say, but I'm pooped and just want to curl up and watch some DVDs - so expect a descriptive post in the next couple days. Oh and yes, we're still waiting for our luggage to arrive.

But I now leave you with some pics I took of Pico on Thanksgiving Day. I walked in our bedroom and found her attentively watching the movie Babe. For real. I promise you these are not set up.

thank you kindly

It's Thanksgiving morning and our house guests just left to continue on their trip to Corolla. It feels more like Christmas morning. I've finished opening all my presents and the day I have anticipated for so long is now drawing to a close. I'm left with the half eaten bag of pork rinds Greg left on the coffee table.

bye bye.

Pico tried to bite our guests multiple times during their stay. Moments after this picture was taken, she threw up in the same spot. A one person cat, I guess this is her way of keeping people away.

Anyhow, last night's dinner at The Boot was a pleasure. More pics here.

anxiously awaiting

Overnight guests are arriving in town this evening during one of the worse storms we've had in months. I need to check bridge closings before they hit Baltimore. In other news, we're leaving for Texas in two days, so warmer weather awaits.

Hope the artwork stays dry.

Mowbray Arch

Our office/guest bedroom all clean and ready for Greg and Rae...if they make it. Just replaced our ugly black laquer futon for this sleeper sofa. Never thought I would buy a 300 dollar sofa, but it's definitely an improvement.

I pulled out the silver tree last week.

party time

We're having a party. I gotta finalize a date, but I'm thinking it might be December 16. These are two preliminary layouts for the email invite (I deleted all personal information and haven't even played with the type yet - so don't judge). But aren't those pics cute? Veer is offering a quirky holiday stock disc and I talked our department in purchasing one today. For a client...yeah, that's it.

Oh yeah, and we're all going to The Boot this Wednesday evening if anyone is interested. Lemme know so I can make a reservation. Check out the "my vermont life" link on this page for more information.

getting closer

Finished the piecing last night and am ready to start the stage I've been dreading - quilting. Went to Fabric Hut the other night and finally came to the realization that I have no idea what I'm doing.

weekend road trip

We went to Marion, VA to visit Bobby's brother. Although the circumstances were quite grim, the short time spent together was well worth the 8 hour trip each way.

Pilot Mountain

the fall foliage

We spent the night in Raleigh to pick up and drop off Bobby's sister.
We met these two strange looking guys while we were there. Feline pugs or exotic short haired persians.

We also made a detour to Radford - my home for four very long years. I lived in this house with a number of other people for two years. We were so proud of our house...now the yard is overgrown, there are bizarre Christmas stockings hanging all over the front porch (in early Nov?), and the word "turds" is spraypainted over the porch. So disappointing.

Before we took off on Saturday, I made some more progress on the quilt.

Lucy - my little lemur.

coworker on a friday afternoon

this is the effect of working in advertising

tord and more

i took a little trip to target to check out the new studio tord boontje dinnerware and marketing displays. It is like a paper wonderland with intricately cut paper garland and mobiles. After already being familiar with his finer work, I can't say I love the new dinnerware. Designed and priced for the masses.

I did purchase a hurricane votive light hoping the patterns would be cast as shadows on our bedroom walls. Nope. Didn't happen. So, maybe I'll save some money for this: the lumen shadow projector.

recent thrifting finds

Went to habitat thrift store in VB last weekend and discovered many little treasures.

some faux antlers - they look real!

a really heavy clock (still need to replace clock face)

Plus, a mid-century ceramic vase and a few aqua blue glass tumblers (not pictured) all for $12.

phewwww....

i'm exhausted. i just finished a major project I have been preparing for, and therefore dreading, the last month and a half. i was able to put on both my art director and photo stylist caps and supervise the last four days of still photography. it feels wonderful to accomplish something creative and i can't wait to see the results.

so that's why i've been hiding.

halloween

spent the evening at marissa's because i was too scared to be alone. we watched the worst remake of psycho, ate minestrone soup, teased the kids who came to the door, and drank a 'lil riesling.
